Arts
Alliance of Artists Communities
The Alliance of Artists Communities is a national and international association of artists’ communities and residencies — a diverse field of more than 1,000 programs worldwide that support artists of any discipline in the development of new creative work.

Americans for the Arts 
Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. We are dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts. From offices in Washington, DC, and New York City, it serves more than 150,000 organizational and individual members and stakeholders.

American Association of Museums
AAM is the only organization representing the entire scope of museums and professionals and non-paid staff who work for and with museums.  Every type of museum is represented including art, history, science, military and maritime, and youth museums, as well as aquariums, zoos, botanical gardens, arboretums, historic sites, and science and technology centers.

Arts Education Partnership
The Arts Education Partnership provides information and communication about current and emerging arts education policies, issues, and activities at the national, state, and local levels.  Our partners include federal arts and education agencies, state departments of education, state arts agencies, national arts and education organizations, and arts and education collaboratives at the state and local level.

Arts Extension Service (AES) 
The Arts Extension Service connects arts and communities with learning.  AES is a national, nonprofit arts service organization, a program of the Division of Continuing Education, University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Association of Performing Arts Presenters
An international association representing nonprofit and for-profit performing arts organizations, its Web site provides advocacy updates and tools, professional development and networking resources such as listservs and a job bank.

Community Arts Network (CAN)
The CAN project promotes information exchange, research and critical dialogue within the field of community-based arts.

Creative Capitol
Creative Capital was founded in 1999 to support artists pursuing adventurous and imaginative ideas, drawing on venture capital concepts to provide funding, counsel and career development services. It is the only national grantmaking and artist service organization for individual artists with an open application process, supporting projects in five disciplines: Emerging Fields, Film/Video, Innovative Literature, Performing and Visual Arts.

Dance/USA
Dance/USA sustains and advances professional dance by addressing the needs, concerns, and interests of dance artists, administrators, and organizations.  By providing services and national leadership, Dance/USA enhances the infrastructure for dance creation, education, and performance.

Foundation Center 
The Foundation Center is a national nonprofit service organization recognized as the nation’s leading authority on organized philanthropy, connecting nonprofits and the grantmakers supporting them to tools they can use and information they can trust.

Grantmakers in the Arts
Grantmakers in the Arts is a nonprofit membership organization of foundations, corporate giving programs and nonprofit organizations that make arts grants, and welcome public sector grant maker as affiliate members.

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
Since opening in 1971, the Kennedy Center has continued its efforts to fulfill John F. Kennedy’s vision—presenting the greatest performers and performances from across America and around the world, nurturing new works and young artists, and serving the nation as a leader in arts education.

League of American Orchestras
The League of American Orchestras leads, encourages and supports America’s orchestras while communicating the vitality and value of orchestras and the music they perform.  The League strives to stimulate the exchange of ideas and practices, promote innovation and foster unity across the orchestra field.  The League delivers meaningful information, learning and leadership opportunities, grass-roots advocacy and other services to its diverse membership.

National Arts Strategies (NAS)
NAS has been a key contributor to capacity building in the arts and culture sector. Our initial focus on financial capacity building, from 1983 to 2002, was realized through a national network of stabilization programs. The successful legacy of this work includes a now standard focus on balance sheet strategy and asset-building in arts and cultural organizations, the universal use of liquidity measurements as a metric for organizational health, and the incorporation of capitalization initiatives as a priority in funder driven programs across the United States.

National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA)
NASAA is the membership organization that unites, represents and serves the nation’s state and jurisdictional arts agencies.  NASAA’s mission is to advance and promote a meaningful role for arts in the lives of individuals, families and communities throughout the United States.  NASAA empowers state arts agencies through strategic assistance that fosters leadership, enhances planning and decision making and increases resources.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)
The NEA is a public agency dedicated to supporting excellence in the arts, both new and established; bringing the arts to all Americans; and providing leadership in arts education. In addition to program, guideline and application information, the site includes interviews, a visual art gallery, a writer’s corner, features on artists and art organizations, resources by art form, links to online federal government information and services and field reports.

New England Consortium of Artist-Educator Professionals (NECAP)
NECAP collaborates with the arts agencies of the New England states, other organizations, and individuals to advance the field of the artist-educator, increase access to quality professional development, develop a regional network and support a community of teaching artists.

New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA)
NEFA’s mission is to creatively support the movement of people, ideas and resources in the arts within New England and beyond, make vital connections between artists and communities, and build the strength, knowledge, and leadership of the region’s creative sector.

  • New England States Touring (NEST) - NEST provides support to nonprofit organizations based in New England for community-related activities by select New England performing artists from outside of the presenter's state.

New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA Source)
The New York Foundation for the Arts' mission is to empower artists at critical stages in their creative lives.  NYFA was established in 1971 by the New York State Council on the Arts as an independent organization to facilitate the development of the individual artist throughout the state. NYFA's ability to provide Fiscal Sponsorship to individual artists and emerging organizations was established in 1976, and NYFA currently sponsors more than 368 Artists' Projects and 52 Emerging Organizations, in addition to supporting many others through its core programs.

Theatre Communications Groups (TCG)
TCG is the national organization for the American theatre that fosters communication among professionals, communities and university theatres.  TCG offers its members networking and knowledge-building opportunities through our conferences, events, research and communications and grants.  TCG seeks to increase the organizational efficiency of its member theatres, cultivate and celebrate the artistic talent and achievements of the field and promote a larger public understanding of, and appreciation for, the theatre.

VAS Arts is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the creative power in people with disabilities.

Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP)
The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) is an independent federal agency that promotes the preservation, enhancement, and productive use of our nation's historic resources, and advises the President and Congress on national historic preservation policy.

American Association of Museums (AMA)

American Association for State and Local History
AASLH provides leadership and support for its members who preserve and interpret state and local history in order to make the past more meaningful to all Americans.

Heritage Preservation (HP) 
Mission is to preserve the nation’s heritage for future generations through innovative leadership, education, and programs.  Heritage Preservation is working to save the objects that embody our history, partnering with conservators, museums, civic groups, and concerned individuals across the nation who care about preserving our past.

Institute of Museum & Library Services (IMLS)
The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 123,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. The Institute's mission is to create strong libraries and museums that connect people to information and ideas. The Institute works at the national level and in coordination with state and local organizations to sustain heritage, culture, and knowledge; enhance learning and innovation; and support professional development.

Museum Assessment Program (MAP)
MAP helps maintain and improve operations through a confidential, consultative process.  We provide guidance in meeting priorities and goals and understanding how your museum compares to standards and best practices.

National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers
The NCSHPO is a 501(c)(3) corporation registered in the District of Columbia. The NCSHPO acts as a communications vehicle among the SHPOs and their staffs and represents the SHPOs with federal agencies and national preservation organizations.

National Park Service
Since 1916, the American people have entrusted the National Park Service with the care of their national parks. With the help of volunteers and park partners, we are proud to safeguard these nearly 400 places and to share their stories with more than 275 million visitors every year.

National Trust for Historic Preservation
The National Trust for Historic Preservation is a private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to saving historic places and revitalizing America's communities.

New England Museum Association (NEMA)
The mission of the New England Museum Association is to strengthen member museums and museums in the region.  To achieve this mission, NEMA fosters communication and ethical conduct; provides professional development; promotes excellence in museum operations; and encourages support for the museum community.

National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)
NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the United States government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.

Organization of six New England state travel directors for the purpose of cooperatively promoting Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

The Office of Travel and Tourism Industries (OTTI)

Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA)

Connecticut Freedom Trail
In recognizing the importance to Connecticut of numerous sites in the state that are associated with the heritage and movement towards freedom of its African American citizens, the Connecticut General Assembly in 1995 authorized that these locations be developed into a Freedom Trail.  Included on the trail are buildings reported to have been used on the Underground Railroad, sites associated with the Amistad case of 1839-1842, and gravesites, monuments, homes, and other structures that represent the concept of freedom so cherished in the American mind.

The Connecticut Humanities Council is a public foundation incorporated in 1973 as a state-based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Connecticut Main Street Center (CMSC)
CMSC is the state's leading resource for cities and towns seeking to comprehensively revitalize their "main street" districts. We provide solutions to help Connecticut's main streets once more become thriving centers of commercial and social activity.

Connecticut Archaeology Center
The Connecticut Archaeology Center, located at University of Connecticut in Storrs, is evolving to serve a variety of audiences - federal, state and town officials, professional and amateur archaeologists, academics, graduate and undergraduate students, K-12 educators, community groups, and the general public - with a variety of tools and services including professional training, research resources, university teaching, professional publications, public and school programming, exhibits, educational kits and internet resources.

CT Lodging Association (CLA)
CLA is the state affiliate of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and is the only industry trade association of Connecticut’s $2.7 billion lodging industry, representing the interests of more than 200 hotel and industry suppliers in Connecticut.  Founded in 1904, CLA supports its members by providing ongoing representation at the legislature and governmental agencies, by providing educational support and by brokering strategic partnerships.

CT Restaurant Association
An association to promote and market the restaurant industry within the state.

Connecticut Association of Nonprofits (CT Nonprofits)
CT Nonprofits is the largest membership organization in the state dedicated exclusively to working with nonprofits in Connecticut. By connecting organizations with information, education, advocacy and collaboration, we help members focus their energy on the people and communities they serve.

Connecticut Council for Philanthropy
Connecticut Council for Philanthropy is a statewide association of grantmakers and the hub of philanthropy in Connecticut. State of Connecticut Lieutenant Governor's Page
The Lieutenant Governor is the elected constitutional officer who is charged with succeeding the Governor in the event of the Governor’s death, resignation, refusal to serve or removal from office during the term; operating the state government during the Governor’s absence from the state; and presiding over the State Senate and casting the tie-breaking vote when the Senate is equally divided.

State of Connecticut
Within its compact borders, Connecticut has forested hills, new urban skylines, shoreline beaches, white-steeple colonial churches, and historic village greens. There are classic Ivy League schools, modern expressways, great corporate offices, and small farms. Connecticut is a thriving center of business, as well as a vacation land. It is both a New England state, and suburban to New York City.
